What this site collects

Browsing the book database requires no account and no personal information. The site sets only strictly necessary cookies — a session cookie and a security (CSRF) token that protect forms against forgery. These are not used to identify, profile, or track you, and no analytics or tracking scripts are loaded.

Visit counter

The number shown in the site footer is the whole of what we know about traffic here. All that is stored is one running total per calendar day — a date and a number. There is no record of individual visits: no IP addresses, no referrers, no device fingerprints, and no analytics or advertising scripts of any kind. To avoid counting the same person on every page they open, the strictly necessary session cookie described above also holds the date your visit was counted; it is readable only by this site and identifies nothing.

One detail of your request is looked at and then discarded: the browser’s user agent, checked only to see whether the request came from a search-engine crawler or other bot so that automated traffic is left out of the total. It is not stored, logged, or used for anything else — nothing about it survives the request.

Contributor accounts

Accounts are only issued to contributors who help maintain the database. If you have an account, we store your name, email address, and a hashed password. This information is used solely to authenticate you and attribute edits. It is never sold or shared with third parties.

Session cookies

When you sign in, a secure, HTTP-only session cookie is set to keep you authenticated. It expires when you sign out or after a period of inactivity.

Book suggestions and site issue reports

If you submit a book suggestion or report a site issue, we collect the information you provide, which may include your name, email address, and the content of your message. This information is sent to a private Discord channel accessed solely by the creators of the site, and is used only to follow up on your submission. It is never sold or shared with any other third party.

Images on this website were found on the corresponding book’s Goodreads page, publisher’s website, or author’s website. All credit for these images goes to the copyright holders. If you are a copyright holder and would like an image removed or credited differently, report a site issue and we will address it promptly.
